It doesn't necessarily make the engine itself louder, but installing the Sinister Diesel Cold Air Intake on a 1999.5-2003 Ford Powerstroke 7.3L does make the turbo whistle substantially louder, enhancing the turbo sound during acceleration and giving your truck a more aggressive presence.
